Lockbox Troubleshooting Steps:
Step 1. Firmly press the ENT key a few times (bottom right of keypad). Is the lockbox responsive?
If yes, then proceed to step 2.
If your lockbox does not respond to button presses (the keypad should light up and make audible beeps), the battery may be dead. You’ll need to remove it by force, either cutting through the shackle or removing the knob completely.
Step 2. Does it give a CODE // ERROR response after entering a code?
If the green READY lights up, the codes entered are successful. Go to step 3.
If you DO receive the CODE // ERROR response, use a Clock Sync code or contact Rently support. We’ll provide a special code that you can use to try and reset the box.
Step 3. The motor does not engage (no audible motor whirring), or there is some sound but grinds and stops immediately.
In this case, the motor may be stuck. You can try using pressure to further push the shackle into the lockbox while entering a code. If this doesn’t work, you’ll need to remove it by force, either by cutting through the shackle or removing the knob completely.
